I've been reading about the the "new" so called oil method. A ton of ladies have said that it helps the manis last much longer and it even fixes peeling nails.
So I decided to give it a go.
Here's what you do - You put oil on your clean, polish free nails. Use coconut, oilve or jojoba oil. Let the oil soak in for about 10 minutes. Gently rub the oil in and then wipe it off completelly, using a dry piece of fabric. Don't wash your hands/nails. Now use polish as per usual.
Now...polishing nails with oil on them goes against everything I've learned about doing a manicure over the years but since so many people have reported great results I tried it. Since the nails aren't oily (you rub all the oil off with the fabric) the polish goes on fine. I used my usual Poshe top coat so dry time was also the same as usual.
Here's what happened 36 hours later:
Basically, the whole lot just lifted and popped off. Nice if you want to save on acetone but not so much if you don't want to be running around with randomly naked nails
So yeah, the oil method sadly doesn't work for me.
